Civil engineers profoundly shape our environment. They plan and design buildings, industrial facilities, energy plants, roads, bridges, railways, waterways and much more. This requires a highly professional and personal qualification. This can be obtained at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at TU Dresden.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering covers the entire spectrum, from the basics of mechanics, through building materials and construction, to their application in concrete, steel and timber structures and geo-technology, as well as in road construction and hydraulic engineering. Construction management and informatics are taught throughout.

Teaching and research are closely linked at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Theories and their applications are taught in-depth in a series of faculty laboratories and its computer centre. The Faculty therefore provides a comprehensive education, giving students the ability to shape our environment in a responsible, invaluable way.
