3rd Forest Fire Protectin Theme Days at the Kaliß forest office

3rd Forest Fire Protectin Theme Days at the project center for forest fire protection at the Kaliß forest office
On September 27 and 28, 2024, the forest fire protection project THOR organized the "Forest Fire Protection Theme Days" for the third time in the Kaliß forestry district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The focus of the first day of the event was a series of lectures on the THOR project results, which was supplemented by two guest lectures on the topic and was aimed at an invited specialist audience. The Chair of Forest Protection participated as a project partner with a lecture on forest fire research and structural forest fire prevention by Prof. Michael Müller.
The next day, the general public was welcomed at various stations directly in the forest. The aim of the day was the practical presentation and demonstration of the various possibilities of forest structural and technical forest fire prevention as well as firefighting and post-fire care. Prof. Michael Müller and Clemens Holzweißig from the Chair of Forest Protection presented the basics for the conception of such a forest fire prevention element directly next to a newly created forest fire bar.
