DGaaE Entomology Congress 2025 in Geisenheim
As it does every two years, the German Society for General and Applied Entomology (DGaaE) once again invited participants to an entomology congress in 2025. Numerous national and international participants responded to the call, including three employees of the Chair of Forest Protection. From March 17 to 20, 2025, a variety of lectures, poster presentations and workshops were offered at Hochschule Geisenheim University in Hesse, which encouraged a professional exchange between the participants. The Chair of Forest Protection was represented with posters from three current research projects:
- "Frühzeitige Erkennung waldschädlicher Insekten anhand ihrer arteigenen Volatile mittels IMS und TD-GC/MS im präventiven Waldschutz" (ForstVIEW, Maike Larquette)
- "Anwendung von Künstlicher Intelligenz in der Prognose am Beispiel der Nonne" (Lymantria monacha) (KINoPro, Nancy Krautz)
- "Überwachung des Auftretens des Schwarzen Nutzholzborkenkäfers (Xylosandrus germanus) mittels neuartigem Monitoringverfahren" (DETMON, Moritz Brunkau)
We would like to thank the DGaaE, the organization team and Hochschule Geisenheim University for the successful event and the opportunity for an informative exchange.
