MuVe - Multimodal traffic management of the state capital Dresden
Project manager: Dipl.-Ing. Sebastian Pape
Project duration: 01/2019 - 12/2020
External project partners: Landeshauptstadt Dresden, Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe AG
Brief descripton: Current and future traffic problems cannot be solved solely by improving the traffic flow for a single mode of transport. Rather, the linking of cross-modal solutions is the key to success. For this reason, the goal of a multimodal traffic management of the city of Dresden is aimed at.
The improvement of the cooperation of the control systems between motorized individual traffic (VAMOS) and public transport (operation control system of the DVB AG) is an important instrument to implement an intelligent and precise traffic information, traffic control as well as traffic guidance for the urban population. Mutual information exchange, such as the provision of traffic data, can exploit previously unused potentials and synergies. Consequently, the focus of VAMOS will be on a multimodal traffic management in order to meet the demands of all means of transport. This is the only way to achieve the goal of sustainable and environmentally compatible mobility.
To cope with the new tasks, a new expansion stage of VAMOS will be realized in the course of the project (VAMOS 3.1). This includes the renewal of the first software modules as well as the integration of new traffic control measures.
