The project was led by the Institute of Textile and Clothing Technology. The Chair of Business Management esp. Environmental Management ran the project “Ecological and economic assessment of the reprocessing and the barrier function depending on use cycles”.
The objectives of the project were:
- a practice-oriented application of life cycle costing, life cycle assessment, and activity-based costing,
- the connection with a tool for environmental performance measurement,
- to consider the life cycle of Operating Room textiles,
- the assessment of the economic and environmental performance at the level of the single process,
- identification of performance drivers for environmental and ecologic aspects,
- application of a benchmarking procedure in order to compare different types of textiles,
- the integration of a function-oriented selection of textiles for the operating room.
