GOflexi - Making upper secondary school more flexible through timetabling
The aim of the GO-flexi project is to support the decision-making processes of school management to optimize the organization of lessons (decision support) in order to realize the educational goals of more equal opportunities in the school form. To this end, a lesson planning tool in the form of an optimization tool is to be developed together with six schools with flexible upper secondary schools from Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony. From an organizational theory perspective, timetabling can be seen as a school organizational QM instrument that aims to develop and promote structures that enable "individual educational paths" in the school setting. Compared to traditional timetabling, changing learning groups must now also be configured within a school semester, taking into account the individual needs of the pupils on the one hand and the personnel and spatial conditions on the other. The joint development of the timetable tool inevitably leads to schools using their process and organizational knowledge to reflect on their own framework conditions. This triggers change processes at upper secondary level which, as a result, strengthen learners in terms of their skills and personal development.
