Prof. Dr. Uwe Wieland new member of the Industry 4.0 Research Advisory Board
Prof. Dr. Uwe Wieland, alumnus of our faculty, has been accepted as a new member of the Industry 4.0 Research Advisory Board. The Industry 4.0 Research Advisory Board is an independent body that supports the Industry 4.0 platform, its working groups and the federal ministries involved, in particular the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). The current 34 representatives from science and industry identify research-based solutions for the further development and implementation of Industry 4.0.
Prof. Dr. Uwe Wieland completed his doctorate at the faculty from 2012-2015. He then went on to work for Robotron Datenbank-Software GmbH, where he helped to set up the Industrial IoT Division. Today, he works as Senior Director Software Product Development & AI-driven Solutions at Volkswagen and holds an Honorary Chair at the University of Applied Sciences Dresden, specializing in Business Information Systems. He is active as a mentor at the German government's Software Campus and at AI Grid in the promotion of young talent in the field of applied AI.
Uwe Wieland contributes his expertise in the development of data-driven business models and hybrid AI architectures for industry to the Industry 4.0 Research Advisory Board.
