Deutsche Bundesbank Award for outstanding theses in Business and Economics at the TU Dresden

The Deutsche Bundesbank and the Faculty of Business and Economics invite students and early-career researchers to take part in the competition for the Deutsche Bundesbank Prize for outstanding theses in economics at the TUD Dresden University of Technology.

Outstanding master's and diploma theses as well as dissertations with a close thematic and factual connection to the statutory tasks of the Deutsche Bundesbank, in particular monetary policy, the stability of the financial and monetary system, banking supervision, cash and non-cash payment transactions, are eligible for funding. The maximum prize money is € 2,500 for master's and diploma theses and € 5,000 for dissertations.

Application information I Documents to be submitted

• The prerequisite for an application is that the thesis or dissertation was completed between 06/2024 and 06/2025 and was graded "summa cum laude" for dissertations.

• The proposal for the award must be submitted by the supervisor of the thesis or dissertation. The proposal must be sent together with the following documents in digital form to the Dean's Office by 30.06.2025():

  - a copy of the thesis

  - the reviews of the thesis

  - a curriculum vitae (if available with a list of publications) of the person to be funded

• The award winners are selected by a selection committee. The members of the selection committee are Prof. Dr. Stefan Eichler, Prof. Dr. Lars Hornuf and Prof. Dr. Christian Leßmann. Legal recourse is excluded. The selection committee decides by majority vote. The Deutsche Bundesbank reserves the right to veto the selection of the prize money recipients.

• The decision on the awarding of the prize will be made by September 30, 2025.
  The award ceremony will take place at the New Year's Reception of the Faculty of Business and Economics in January 2026.
