Support Center Digitalization at TUD

The further development of digitalization is a central strategic goal of the TUD. In order to address the associated challenges in the university's everyday digital life comprehensively and synergistically, TUD is establishing the Support Center Digitalization (SCD), organizationally anchored in the CIDS. The SCD will commence its work on 1 January 2024 under the responsibility of the CDIO. As a single point of contact, it will support TUD members and affiliates in matters such as security aspects, digital administration and central IT support.

Coordination IT strategy and services

The CDIO develops strategies for digitalization in teaching, research and administration as well as for the responsible use of IT and for securing IT equipment and IT administration at TU Dresden. The IT Strategy and Services Coordination team ensures that the SCD's activities are in line with TU Dresden's IT strategy.

Digital administration

The team Digital Administration manages the university-wide IT systems for enterprise resource planning (ERP; SAP) and document management (DML, d.3ecm). Our Application Management team implements TUD administration processes in IT systems to use these systems to the optimum.

IT Service Desk

The Service Desk is the single point of contact (SPOC) for all employees, students and guests of the TUD with regard to the central IT services. Our Service Desk team provides assistance with questions about the IT services offered. Inquiries that cannot be answered immediately are taken up and forwarded to the responsible experts.

IT service team for TUD rectorate and administration

The IT service team is responsible for managing the IT processes of the Central University Administration, administering the IT infrastructure required for this and providing IT support for the employees of the Central University Administration.

Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Computer Emergency Response Team of TU Dresden (TUD-CERT) has the task and goal of supporting all members and affiliates in preventing and investigating cyber attacks and handling security incidents.

Information security

One of the central challenges for TUD is ensuring information security. It includes data protection, i.e. the protection of your personal data, as well as IT security, i.e. the secure processing of this and other data at TU Dresden.

Support for everyday digital life

The SCD has a clear task: to support TUD members and relatives in their everyday digital lives. Digital administration services are bundled, operated and further developed. In addition to aspects such as project management and clarification of information security issues, support in determining and describing technical requirements and in selecting and procuring suitable IT support will also be provided here in future. Training and self-help services will also be part of the offering.
