Teaching
Lectures and courses
We are teaching Biostatistics and Machine Learning as part of the course 'Image analysis with Python' for BSc Biotechnology, MSc Molecular Bioengineering, and MSc Nanobiophysics. Material is available here.
The course is currently running until summer 2023.
We are happy and proud to have received the Teaching award 2021 awarded by Society of Friends and Supporters of the TUD e. V. together with Dr. Robert Haase. The associated press release can be found here.
We are also helping out with teaching of machine learning, genomics, and cancer biology as guest lecturers in different courses.
Placements
We are happy to host students from various backgrounds, including, but not limited to Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, and Medicine. Students who are interested in a placement or thesis should please get in touch with us.
Please be aware that currently placements in the group are purely computational and require programming experience in R or Python. We can only offer projects that use computational biology (possibly including machine learning) with a biomedical focus and are related to the research direction of the group.
For machine learning theory or applying machine learning in other contexts, please have a look at CSBD or Scads.AI.
