The OLGA stands for Optimierung der Landnutzung an Gewässern und auf Agrarflächen (beispielhafte Markierung) in German, or Optimization of Land Use Adjoining Water and on Agricultural Land (exemplary marking) in English. The project facilitates the development of practical solutions for the sustainable use of land and resources and regional collaboration in Dresden and the surrounding area. The project partners work on four closely linked thematic modules (module 1: Sustainable Use of Agricultural Wood on Land Adjoining Rivers, module 2: Conservation and Regional Added Value in Agriculture, module 3: Participation Through Citizen Science, module 4: Regional Integration and Project Management): Some of the key questions the project is investigating are:
Where can regional value cycles be created or developed? At what points can we connect stakeholders along the value chain? And, in general, where can cooperation structures be created and supported for the development, processing, marketing and consumption of regional products?
What regional financial models can be used to ensure regional cooperation structures remain feasible in the long-term?
How can we raise public awareness of sustainable regional products?
