Between gaining knowledge and shaping practice
The research interest of the professorship is the analysis and (vocational) didactic design of vocational education processes at the various qualification levels and at all learning locations. This requires consideration of the complex relationships between professional work and teaching and learning on an individualized, institutionalized and societal level.
Fields of research
The examination of the above-mentioned complex relations and the tangential objects requires an interdisciplinary approach and a selection of methods appropriate to the subject matter and in combination.
The Chair's current core research areas are
- Target group-related development and design of knowledge-supporting resources
- The potential of differentiating objectives, content and methods for the design of individualized learning (dealing with heterogeneity in vocational teaching and learning)
- Digitalization of the construction, wood and paint technology sectors
