Eleven years of ELF! The ELF is celebrating its eleventh anniversary at the beginning of the year.
On Tuesday, 21.01.2025, students, cooperators, lecturers and guests - such as the head of the ZiLL, Ms. Henriette Greulich - visited the ELF in the affectionately named Tower Room of the Faculty of Education (WEB 401). The ELF was founded 11 years ago by Prof. Bennewitz at TU Dresden and is very popular with prospective teachers who are studying at TU Dresden and would like to gain more practical experience. The wide-ranging offers of the ELF - such as collegial case consultation (KFB) and research colloquia for student teachers - systematically prepare student teachers from all departments for their teaching activities and the associated requirements and promote the acquisition of professional, social, methodological and personal skills. If you would like to find out more, you can find further information on the ELF website: http: //tu-dresden.de/erzw/elf. The ELF was recognized and congratulated by representatives of the university management. Afterwards, the head of the EAF, Julia Nowak, thanked us and then we celebrated with champagne and snacks.

Internship A for the whole school year - That's why I'm taking part!
This is what the students from the pilot project at the Richard von Schlieben Secondary School in Zittau and the Bruno Bürgel Secondary School in Weißwasser say in May and June 2024:
- One day a week I do 3 hours of work experience and the other 3 hours I work paid.
- I can work on my seminar work easily and continuously because I am always at school on Fridays over the course of a school year instead of doing a block internship for 4 to 6 weeks (in September or March).
- I don't write a long internship report, but a 2-page internship reflection together with a dialogically accompanied reflection.
- I get free accommodation near the school.
- I work with enthusiastic teachers in well-equipped schools.

Learning together with students - SHKs wanted
We are looking for students for 6 weeks (01.05.-15.06.2024) for one day a week as a student learning companion at a secondary school either in Zittau or in Weißwasser. On this one day you will accompany a class 5 in their learning together with 4 other students. You don't have to be studying to be a teacher, but you should be curious and want to support pupils in their learning. On this day, you will take over 6 lessons, but not subject lessons, rather you will help the children with reading (you will receive a short training for this), develop research questions with them and then answer these research questions together with the students.
You will be paid 8 hours per day at the school as a SHK.
If you are interested in breaking new ground in school education with us, we look forward to hearing from you. Please send a message directly to .
You don't have time yourself, but would like to support us? We have to manage to get about 10 students in one of the two schools one day a week for these 6 weeks. Please help us to find suitable students and pass on this information. We need a total of 25 students.

NEW: Collegial case consultation for teachers
Collegial case consultation is a form of consultation that takes place in small groups and is now also offered for teachers at the TUD.
In consultation with the group, participants have the opportunity to bring in a case. This can be a pedagogical problem from current or past seminars. A classic example of a case is the repeated disruption of a student in a seminar/lesson or of a participant during a training course. Each participant who brings in a case asks a specific case-related question, on the basis of which the group analyzes and interprets the case and develops possible solutions in the various phases of collegial case consultation.

10 years of ELF
The ELF celebrates its 10th anniversary. We are delighted that the Educational Science Teaching and Research Workshop (ELF) at the Faculty of Education at TU Dresden can be recognized for its 10th anniversary and as an important stakeholder in teacher training.
On Monday, 29.01.2024, students, cooperators, teachers and guests, such as Vice-Rector University Culture Prof. Dr. Roswitha Böhm, Thomas Milke (SMK) and Dean Prof. Dr. Cornelia Wustmann visited the ELF in the affectionately named Tower Room of the Faculty of Education (WEB 401).
The important offers of the ELF: collegial case consultation, research colloquia for student teachers and a cross-faculty tutor program as well as the dynamic development of the ELF (further information on the ELF at: www.tu-dresden.de/erzw/elf/), were appreciated by the representatives of the university management and the faculty management in speeches and we were congratulated. This was followed by a vote of thanks from the head of the ELF, Julia Nowak, and a certificate presentation to a student tutor, Selina Münning. Afterwards, we celebrated and had a chat over champagne and snacks.
In summary, we hope that the innovative approaches in the work of the ELF will open up new perspectives in teacher training and contribute to a sustainable improvement in the everyday working life of teachers. With the KFB, for example, the ELF is making an important contribution to shaping teacher training for the future. Using the method of the KFB, central pedagogical problems, deficits and aspects of frustration are transparently illustrated, patterns of interpretation and perspectives are made aware and expanded, and a variety of options for action are subsequently developed. Students who attend the ELF seminar should be enabled to establish collegial cooperation in their future everyday school life with the help of the KFB. We are pleased to be able to offer the KFB in the training catalog for practicing teachers in the future and also that this method can relieve the burden on teachers at the TUD.
We celebrate our 10th anniversary!

Our method of the month in May
In May, we are introducing you to the bridge-building method from our tutoring program. In small groups, the participants found various creative ways to solve the task. What they didn't know beforehand - the method was followed by a debriefing on their behavior during the group work. Possible reflection questions: What different roles became visible within the group? How were decisions made? Did one person take the lead?
