The legal basis
Teacher Training - Elementary Schools in Saxony concludes with the First State Examination. This is regulated in terms of content and form by the Teacher Examination Regulations I (LAPO I). As the state examination approaches, you should definitely take a look at this legal basis.
The State Office for Schools and Education (LaSuB) is responsible for the First State Examination. You can find information on the First State Examination on the LaSuB website.
Oral examination in subject teaching
Register for the examination at the LaSuB, Dresden location, and indicate your "preferred examiner" (there is no guarantee ). Prior registration with the examiner is not required. You will then receive the assignment of your examiner from the LaSuB.

Scientific work in subject teaching
We support committed and motivated students in the preparation of their academic thesis (so-called state examination thesis or examination paper). We will be happy to confirm that we will supervise your thesis after you have sent us your 2 to 3-page short synopsis, in which you explain which topic you would like to deal with in your thesis and how you intend to proceed in terms of content and method(guidelines for writing a short synopsis), as a PDF document to the e-mail address . Please include the name of your preferred supervisor and the name of your preferred second supervisor. You will receive a reply from us after reviewing the short synopsis.
Deadlines for submitting the short synopsis:

Aspiring degree in the winter semester: submission of the short synopsis by November 30 of the previous year (registration of the thesis then takes place in April)

Summer semester: submission of the short synopsis by May 31 of the previous year (registration of the thesis then takes place in October)
To obtain the signature of the supervisor and the second corrector for the registration form of the State Office for Schools and Education, Dresden site, please use the individual office hours as a guide.

The following guidelines are intended to help you write your thesis.
The total length of the academic paper is 60 pages (+/- 10 %).
- including footnotes
- excluding cover page, table of contents, bibliography, figures, list of figures and, if applicable, catalog/tables
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt; Arial, 11 pt or comparable
- Line spacing: 1.5-fold
- Margins: 3 cm right and left, 2.5 cm top and bottom
