TechLA - Technical Teacher Training - Vocational Schools
The university degree program "Teacher Training - Vocational Schools" is the direct path to a later career as a teacher at vocational schools. The technical departments of the degree program teach everything you need to work creatively, inspiringly and innovatively at vocational school centers as well as in adult, continuing and further education.
Teacher Training - Vocational Schools
The course is suitable for students with or without a vocational qualification who wish to work as a teacher in a vocational training center. This undergraduate course gives you the opportunity to deepen your enthusiasm for technology in a department of your choice, to acquire the know-how for the didactic know-how and also to study a second subject according to your interests.
Previous vocational training enables you to gain experience and knowledge. However, it is also possible to study without a vocational qualification; proof of a one-year work placement must then be provided before admission to the first state examination.
The following technical Departments can be studied at TU Dresden:
- Civil Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical engineering and information technology
- Color technology, interior design and surface technology
- Wood Technology
- Metal and machine technology
- Textile Technology and Clothing (as part of the IngPäd+ study option in cooperation with the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau)
The Teacher Training - Vocational Schools degree program concludes with the First State Examination. The prerequisite for this is a professional internship or vocational training in the chosen Department. The course is followed by an 18-month paid preparatory service with practical pedagogical training, which is completed with the second state examination.
