The interdisciplinary research group Figurations of Uncertainty at the FernUniversität in Hagen is organizing a conference on the topic of threats on 20/21 November in Berlin. Due to the similarities in the core research areas with the TUDiSC network, the event could be of particular interest to TUDiSC members.

The conference will focus on threats from an interdisciplinary perspective. Both on an individual and collective level, diffuse feelings of insecurity are intensifying and leading to an increased perception of threats in various fields. Proposed contributions can, for example, focus on the following topics: threat scenarios related to future conditions or developments; latent threats emanating from certain places or spaces; epistemic threats both in the relationship between knowledge and ignorance and in scientific or political practice.
