Event info
The ever-faster development of machine learning will change the world dramatically in the coming years. What can happen if learning machines are unleashed on humanity in an all too uncontrolled manner can already be seen in examples such as Google or Facebook: ecosystems have been created in which - also - disinformation, propaganda and hatred can break out at an unprecedented speed and scale. What problematic effects systems like ChatGPT will have is completely unclear at this point. What is clear is that one never knows where AI systems will draw their knowledge from. And whether the information they tell us is reliable at all. In his guest lecture, Christian Stöcker will outline what this means for the future of the public sphere and how the problems associated with these new systems can be addressed, providing answers to pressing questions of our time.
