UNIVERSITY SCHOOL DRESDEN – School of the Future
The University School Dresden (Universitätsschule Dresden) is set up as a pilot project in Dresden. Operated by the City of Dresden, the University School is developing, exploring, and scientifically evaluating innovative forms of teaching, learning and cohabitation. The University School is providing the opportunity both to envision the school of the future and to practically test novel concepts based on an academic foundation. University School Dresden – Facts
- a growing community school (about 1.000 pupils at full capacity), currently 850 pupils in grades 1-9 (school year 2024/25)
- grades 1 to 12 continuously in mixed age groups
- close co-operation with nursery schools and the second level of secondary school (vocational education/secondary school Gymnasium)
- the University School Dresden is designed as a publicly-operated school pilot project by the City of Dresden
- the University School Dresden was established in the school year 2019/2020 (consisting of one primary and one secondary school) and is located on Cämmerswalder Straße 41 in Dresden
- enrolment is open to children from all parts of Dresden
