#72 POSTCARDS AND ROLE-PLAYING GAMES
Today's idea comes from the Life Action Role Play (LARP) scene and adapts the format of the postcard LARP for political and artistic contexts. Although this concept requires a little conceptual and organizational preparation, it is otherwise very easy to implement:
First, think about the political-artistic topic you would like to address with your postcard role-play and what your goal is. Possible goals could be to stimulate an exchange on a certain topic, to make a marginalized perspective visible, to encourage a change of perspective, to strengthen tolerance for ambiguity or to create an awareness of the circumstances under which and why we trust certain sources.
Depending on your political-educational goal and topic, develop a small scenario that is suitable for getting the participants mentally in tune with their roles and structuring the discussions and interactions between the roles. For example, similar to the impressive LARP performance "Makellos", this could be a distant future in which the participants slip into the role of congressmen or members of an ethics committee to discuss various topic-related agenda items and make potentially dilemmatic decisions together.
Formulate your scenario together with rules of the game and subsequent reflection questions in postcard size. Place your postcards in busy pubs or send them as a Christmas greeting to members or interested parties of your association or project, for example.
