ECTS
The Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) has introduced the ECTS credit system (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). ECTS provides a standardized way of measuring and comparing learning achievements and transferring them from one university to another. For each successfully completed course students gain a specific quantity of “Credit Points”. After students have terminated their studies at the TUD they can use these credit points for further studies at their home university. Thus studying abroad is not just for gaining experiences in life but also credits for study.
International students should ensure before taking courses at the TUD that the achieved credit points can be transferred to their home university. The approval of credit points gained abroad is subject to the home university!
