Project description:
The "Literary Information System (LIS)" project presents the cultural wealth of the border region on an interactive map, as this has not yet been sufficiently communicated to learners. The map presents literary and cultural memorials (monuments, memorial plaques, places of life and poetry, etc.) and at the same time demonstrates the benefits and use of new media in education. The content is accessible to different target groups with skills, abilities and interests in the subject. In general, the project is aimed at school and university educational institutions, as well as non-governmental educational institutions and providers of cultural sites of remembrance in the region. More specifically, it is aimed at pupils and teachers at secondary schools and grammar schools, at non-governmental educational institutions (adult education centers, associations, etc.) and also at students, researchers and teachers at universities. The information offers more integration of local knowledge for schools, open access for those working in other educational institutions and, finally, an archive for university research that cannot be found anywhere else.
LIS improves the infrastructure for education in schools, universities and education in general. Familiarity with the cultural heritage should also intensify the identification of citizens with the region and also strengthen its reputation and awareness. The resulting communicative network on the culture of the border region connects otherwise separate institutions.
The project is based on three dimensions:
Innovation:
- Development of the map
- Collection, storage and presentation of the data in the digital geographic information system (GIS)
Information:
- Cultural-historical data and documents
- Collected, processed and entered by literary and cultural scientists
Networking and implementation:
- Network building from regional stakeholders by project managers
