Sound & Science: "Artificial Intelligence and Music"
Prof. Ph.D. Shu-Chen Li (Chair of Lifespan Developmental Neuroscience, TU Dresden)
Prof. Dr. Susanne Narciss (Chair of Psychology of Learning and Instruction, TU Dresden)
Prof. Karl-Heinz Simon (Dresden College of Music Carl Maria von Weber)
What does the music of tomorrow have in store for us? Artificial intelligence, augmented reality, the Internet of Skills or Tactile Internet – what influence do they have on the world of music? Will new pieces be composed exclusively by computers? Will musicians be replaced by robots and machines? Or will humans and machines benefit from mutual learning?
The Center for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop (CeTI) focuses on such collaborations between humans and machines. Here, in addition to new communication technologies, the understanding of the human body and its responsiveness to these new processes and tools are closely studied. Alongside Prof. Frank Fitzek, one of the spokespersons of the Cluster of Excellence CeTI, Prof. Shu-Chen Li, Prof. Susanne Narciss (all TU Dresden), Prof. Karl-Heinz Simon (Dresden College of Music) and pianist Mirjam Hinrichs will address this topic in the seventh edition of "Sound & Science".
The concert will be streamed live on TUD’s YouTube channel.
In cooperation with the Dresden Music Festival.
