Degree Programmes/ Project work
Plan your studies.
Detailed information on the study programmes, the module handbooks, projects and more.
Project work
You are also welcome to do a project work, for example your final thesis, at a chair of our faculty. Please have a look at the institutes and chairs and their offered project topics.
Application
For your application as ERASMUS or part-time student please read the information provided by the International Office of the TU Dresden.
Use our module handbooks (see Study offer) for setting up your Learning Agreement.
Our degree programmes in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Mechatronics and Renewable Energy Systems are offered as integrated five-year (single-tier) programmes leading to a Diplom degree. The Diplom programmes thus include Bachelor level (1st until 3rd year of Diplom programmes) as well as Master level (4th and 5th year of Diplom programmes). So when choosing the modules you want to attend during your stay at our faculty, make sure to choose the appropriate level.
You have to choose minimum 70% of the modules offered by the Faculty of
Electrical and Computer Engineering!
Please make sure that the module you have chosen is offered in the semester you want to stay at the TU Dresden (winter semester, summer semester), see also Study offer.
In order to avoid timetable conflicts you should choose from one study programme and one spezialisation area.
Please note that most of our modules for our degree programmes in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Mechatronics and Renewable Energy Systems are taught in German. For this reason, you should have a good command of German (B1 or better) so that your period of study in Dresden will be successful.
Our Master's programme in Nanoeletronic Systems is held in English. If you want to apply as an exchange student for Nanoelectronic Systems, you have to prove good knowledge of English (at least B2).
Incoming students who want to do a project (for example their final thesis) during their stay at our faculty have to prove good knowledge of English or German (at least B2 level.)

Exams / Transcript of Records
To be allowed to take exams, you need to register for these at the examination office (Ellen Töpfer). Please use this form for registration. Please note that there are deadlines set for registration which will be announced beforehand. After the deadline has expired, registration is no longer possible.
Please list in this form:
1. all the exams you plan to take except for language course exams or final projects
2. lab courses that you attended
3. also exams that are not offered by the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering but by other faculties.
The module number and examination number you can find in the study plans.
The examination schedules can be found here (in German only).
If you have registered for an exam but you cannot take it for any reason, you need to give notification of this to the examination office, using this form. If you do not inform the examination office about your absence from the exam, you will be graded as "not passed".
Please note that your Transcript of Records will not be issued or sent to you or your home university automatically. You therefore have to contact the ERASMUS coordinator of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering for your transcript of records when your study visit in Dresden is nearly finished.
Please also be aware that your data will be saved only for the period of two years following your stay in Dresden. After this period of time, the examination office does not have any access to your data and we therefore cannot issue your Transcript of Records anymore.
Failed examinations (5.0) that you took during your ERASMUS stay at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology will be officially transferred to your grade account if you continue your studies as a full-time student.
