Summer Schools and Conferences
Every year, universities all around the world organize summer schools for further qualification in specific areas. Those summer schools enable the participants to learn and meet students and scientest from the hosting country as well as international ones.
Some of our doctoral researchers took the chance and participated in different summer schools and conferences, like Hannes Ernst did end of July / beginning of August in Como, Italy, where the second "International Summer Institute on Network Physiology" (ISINP) took place. With 50 contributions and 45 posters, far-reaching insights into methods and findings in the filed of network physiology were provided. The focus was on the interaction of different organ systems and their multimodal measurement.
Yuxuan Guo and Marc Satkowski were participants of the GSERN Workshops "Bayesian Data Analysis" and "Qualitative Research Methods & Analysis" in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Furthermore, Yuxuan Guo will travel to Alicante, Spain, in August to take part in the "20th European conference on Eye Movements" and Franziska Keßler will attend a workshop for "Bayesian Modeling for Cognitive Science" in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Of course, the TU Dresden is hosting international conferences as well. Franziska Keßler joined the EGPROC 2019 ("38th Meeting of the European Group of Process Tracing Studies") and the conference EEE 2019 ("Entwerfen, Entwickeln, Erleben") offered Martin Gebert a platform for exchange between science and practice in product development and design. Overall, the future relationship between humans and technology was discussed, taking social and societal conditions into account and visions of future products with close links between product development and industrial design were presented.
