Engineering accessible media
Accessibility requires media, systems and services to be perceivable, operable, undertandable, and robust for people to the widest extent.
The lecture with exercises introduces various assistive technologies such as screen readers and presents the connection to the requirements of users with a disability. Accessibility of (scientific) texts, films, audio books, maps, etc. must be considered from the outset so that image descriptions, subtitles, audio description, sign language and other features can be designed.
Various test methods are covered in order to check accessibility. These are particularly suitable for testing websites according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
