Structure and organization
The Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science has a modular structure and comprises 6 semesters. The course consists of a total of 23 compulsory modules.
The curriculum primarily serves as an orientation for structuring your studies. Flexibility and therefore the opportunity to plan a time slot for studying abroad (mobility window) is mainly available in the 5th and 6th semesters. The modules "Specialization in Media Computer Science" (INF-B-530) and "Specialization in Media Computer Science" (INF-B-540) as well as "Interdisciplinary Qualifications in Computer Science" (INF-B-610) are made up of elective content and are therefore ideal for completing with credits chosen at a foreign university.

The Bachelor's degree program in Media Computer Science offers a broad-based education in the scientific foundations of computer science and media technology.Media Computer Science is interdisciplinary in nature and has particular points of contact with applied computer science with a focus on multimedia and software technology. There are also links to media theory and economics, visual and cultural studies, communication and psychology.
In addition to theoretical foundations, the Bachelor's degree program in Media Computer Science also includes application-oriented aspects. In addition to a sound technical computer science education, special content-related, didactic and methodological measures are designed to prepare students for professional life. These include teamwork, general principles and languages.
Aims
The aim of the course is for students to master the theoretical and practical specialist knowledge required for professional practice in the fields of software engineering, media acquisition, processing and media design, information management and intelligent and distributed complex systems, including their technical foundations, to have an overview of the relationships between the individual disciplines of computer science and media technology and to be able to work according to scientific methods. Students have knowledge of the various forms of handling electronic media and the specific systems and are able to implement them.
Graduates have an education that provides a view of scientific and professional practice that complements Media Computer Science. Students have qualifications specific to their professional field, which they can build on in the Master's degree program or in their professional activities.
Degree
Once the Bachelor's examination has been passed, the degree "Bachelor of Science" (abbreviated to B.Sc.) is awarded.
Admission requirements and application
The prerequisite for admission to the course is a general higher education entrance qualification, alternatively an adequate subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, a passed master craftsman's examination in a corresponding Department or an entrance qualification recognized as equivalent by the university.
The course begins in the winter semester. Applications must be submitted by 15.09. of each year via the online application of the Admissions Office.
