Studying at the Chair of Aircraft Engineering
The development of all kind of aircraft requires interdisciplinary knowledge. It is imparted within courses of the Chair of Aircraft Engineering. First experiences and industrial contacts can be gained by participating in student and research projects.
Aerospace Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering
Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest courses of studies at TUD Dresden University of Technology and belongs to the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering. It is offered as a traditional diploma engineering program and comprises a continuous five-year course of study.
After two years of primary studies in mechanical engineering, students choose a field of specialization according to their interests. The Institute of Aerospace Engineering offers lectures for the specialization in aircraft engineering, space systems and flight propulsion. In a further specialization, students can acquire expertise in the field of aeronautics. The Chair of Aircraft Engineering offers a wide range of lectures for this purpose. Thus, students can learn the basics in the field of aircraft design, aircraft structures and aircraft manufacturing.
As the topics of the Chair of Aircraft Engineering are integrated into interdisciplinary research and teaching areas, the lectures as well as student research projects are open to students and audiences of all disciplines.
