Short history of the institute ...
The Institute of Natural Materials Technology, officially founded on July 1st, 2016, is with the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering of Technische Universität Dresden. It comprises of the Chair of Agricultural Systems and Technology and the Chair of Processing Machines and Processing Technology from the late Institute of Processing Machines and Mobile Working Machines, the Chair of Food Engineering and the Chair of Bioprocess Engineering from the former Institute of Food Technology and Bioprocess Engineering, as well as the Chair of Wood and Fibre Material Technology and the Chair of Paper Technology (formerly the Institute of Wood and Paper Technology). The Chair of Technology of Productive Biofilms, established in conjunction with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ is also part of the new institute.
