Administrative and scientific structure of the ITM
The ITM is a globally leading institution for innovation and education, operating along the entire process chain of high-performance materials and textiles (from atoms and molecules to fiber-based materials, combinations of materials depending on the target product, textile-based semi-finished products as well as final components and products). By means of interdisciplinary and international projects performed in collaboration with proven research experts, we pursue the goal to anchor fiber-based high-performance structures and components being a customized and future-oriented material in the industry, and thus to make a significant contribution to Saxony´s economy. We consider the excellent education of today´s students and future experts our main task to strengthen Saxony as an important economic and scientific location . Based on state-of-the-art machinery, various technical appliances and modern machine plants, our students and doctoral candidates are actively involved in research activities.
