Studying at TUD
Within the ERASMUS+ worldwide exchange programme, students from our ERASMUS+ partner universities can be supported for a study period at TU Dresden lasting between 2 and 6 months. ERASMUS+ funding includes a subsistence grant of 850 € per month and a travel grant lump sum according to distance band. When traveling environmentally friendly, a top-up is paid out (see further information and distance calculator below). Students with fewer opportunities can also apply for a monthly top-up of 250 €.
Information on application and funding
In addition to the monthly allowance of 850 €, students can apply for social top-ups. The social top-ups cannot be combined with each other.
Social Top-up: Students with child
If you take your child/children abroad, you are entitled to an additional lump sum of 250 € per month.
You submit the request via Mobility Online after application and placement by uploading a declaration on honor and supporting documents (copy of the birth certificate of the child/children; supporting documents proving that the child/children will be taken abroad (e.g. travel documents, proof of care on site)). Information on how to apply will be emailed to you in a timely manner.
Social Top-up: Students with a disability or certified chronic disease
As a student with a certified degree of disability or with a certified chronic illness that results in additional financial needs abroad, you will receive an additional lump sum of 250 € per month.
You submit the request via Mobility Online after application and placement by uploading a declaration on honor and supporting documents (proof of the disability or certificate of the chronic illness including declaration of the doctor that there is an additional financial need abroad). Information on how to apply will be emailed to you in a timely manner.
If particularly high costs are incurred during the stay abroad (e.g. for barrier-free accommodation or flight or for an accompanying person), you can alternatively submit a real cost application (long application). In this application, the costs incurred must be detailed and can then be reimbursed up to a maximum of 15.000 € per semester. The application must be submitted via the IO of the TUD at least 2 months before the start of the stay abroad.
Social Top-up: First-generation students
As a first-generation student, you can apply for a monthly top-up of 250 € if no parent/relative has a degree from a university or college.
You submit the request via Mobility Online after application and placement by uploading a declaration on honor and supporting documents (declaration on honor of the parents/relatives). Information on how to apply will be emailed to you in a timely manner.
Social Top-up: Working students
As an employed student, you can apply for a monthly top-up of 250 €.
Prerequisites: The employment began at least six months before application or before the start of mobility abroad without interruption and ends at the latest with the start of the semester abroad. The activity can not be carried out during the stay abroad.
You submit the request via Mobility Online after application and placement by uploading a declaration on honor and supporting documents (employer's certificate). Information on how to apply will be emailed to you in a timely manner.
