Science
Research at the TU Dresden is vitally coined by the intensive cooperation with a multitude of partners and institutions outside of the university. Hereby science networks play a crucial role. The cooperating partners enrich the workaday life in research as well as in teaching. By the close interconnectedness of science and economy, in return, the preconditions are set which accelerate the transfer of newest research findings into practice, thereby promoting innovations.
Cooperation in Science
Cooperation is an important precondition for excellent research and teaching. In addition to the general interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and experience a joint further development of research work as well as the common use of resources play a decisive role.
Expression of the special networking in scientific questions on regional scale is DRESDEN-concept, an association of TU Dresden with strong partners from science and culture with the aim to mine synergies in research, teaching, infrastructure and administration and to make visible the excellence of the Dresden research on an international scale. Partners in Dresden-concept harmonize their scientific strategies and identify the seminal fields for the further development of the location.
On national and international level TU Dresden also cooperates with multitudinous renowned scientific institutions. These contacts usually originate from direct working relations and projects of single scientists and their national, resp. international peers. In cases of strategic importance, if for example several departments are involved in the cooperation, also official cooperation agreements are concluded on the level of the university management board. Often on international level a student exchange is incorporated into the scientific cooperation. Information on the exchange of students you can find via the International Office.
