Visit from Belarus
Within the ERASMUS+ programme the PhD student Kristina Makarevich from the Department of Nuclear Physics from the Belarusian State University is staying at the IKTP for six months. Here she finalises her PhD thesis with the topic Assessment of radiation doses to patients from X-ray examinations based on Monte Carlo radiation transport simulations. Moreover, she is engaged in the preparation and conduction of a beamtime at the AGOR cycotron in Groningen which was recently granted to researchers from the IKTP within the ENSAR2 programme. This beamtime is meant for the developing of novel methods of clinical dosimetry in order to improve QA procedures for cancer treatment.
ERASMUS+ as well as ENSAR2 are financed by the European Union.
