Even though particle physics might seem to be most spectacular these days, many extraordinarily interesting questions are directly related to or can be addressed by means of nuclear physics.
In this talk I would like to introduce charge exchange reactions at intermediate energies, which provide a high precision tool to extract certain nuclear matrix elements. I will mainly focus on the data analysis of data taken at RCNP, Osaka (Japan), last year and touch some of the physics that is addressed.
