Specialisation Nuclear and Particle Physics

The lectures and tutorials in the specialisation "Nuclear and Particle Physics" are a combination of experimental and theoretical courses given by experts in the field. The laboratory courses also mix theory and experiment in order to present a broad overview of the different research techniques.

Lectures and Seminars

We offer lectures, seminars and tutorials in the general physics education for physics and engineering students. The courses in nuclear and particle physics are closely related to our field of research.

Laboratory Courses

The lab courses provide a practical introduction into modern experimental methods and techniques in particle and nuclear physics. Basic and advanced physics labs are part of the Bachelor curriculum in Physics. The advanced lab course of the Physics Master programme combines theory and experiment and offers the opportunity to learn about the different aspects of particle and nuclear physics research before starting the Master thesis.

The Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics offers courses on recent topics of particle and nuclear physics, as well as for the general education in experimental and theoretical physics in the Bachelor and Master programme.

Overview of lectures und seminars

We regularly offer pro-seminars in English (Bachelor) und seminars on modern research topics (Master/Bachelor) in the field of nuclear and particle physics. All seminars are organised as weekly events during the winter and summer terms. The seminar presentations are prepared by the participating students. Weekly institute seminars und research seminars are mainly for institute members and students working in the research groups of the IKTP.
