Master's thesis available starting May 2024
Topic: Does belonging to a group promote health and well-being among senior citizens in Dresden?
As part of the LAB60+ study, a representative survey of the Dresden population over the age of 60 was conducted in 2021 on their health, living and care situation. As part of a dissertation project at the Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology, the effect of belonging to social groups on loneliness and well-being is to be investigated for a sub-sample. The following questions are to be answered: What types of groups do the Dresden seniors feel they belong to? How has belonging changed due to coronavirus? Which aspects of group membership are particularly strongly associated with loneliness and well-being and how are the aspects related to each other (e.g. importance of the group, duration of membership)? Which socio-demographic characteristics are associated with membership in many social groups?
Method: Evaluation of available in-depth data on group membership of older people in Dresden (multi-level analyses with N approx. 100)
Start: Immediately
