Special journal issue on consumer protection in the field of gambling
The special issue of the journal SUCHT (No. 5/6 2018) provides an up-to-date overview of the concept and content of modern consumer protection.
-
Three of the nine contributions deal with basic research (characteristics of pathological gamblers; Kräplin & Goudriaan, 2018), the use of therapy (Loy, Grüne, Braun, Samuelsson & Kraus, 2018) as well as spontaneous remission (Rumpf, Petzold, Bischof & Bischof, 2018).
-
Two reviews examine the possible connections between expansion (LaPlante, Gray, Williams & Nelson) or restriction (Meyer, Kalke & Hayer 2018) of the availability and the extent of the problem.
-
Three papers present concepts for consumer protection (previous Reno model (Blaszczynski, 2018), a public health oriented further development (Nower & Caler, 2018), a contribution with the protection of vulnerable gamblers (Bühringer, Kotter, Czernecka & Kräplin, 2018) as well as a paper with the regulation of competing interests of the involved groups including the scientists (Batra, 2018).
