The Central Student Information and Counseling Service help you find guidance and a degree programme that suits you.

What counseling can be about

You can contact us with the following concerns, among others:

  • Developing study and career aspirations
  • Reviewing a desired course of study
  • Weighing up different study options
  • Clarification of interests, competencies and goals
  • Developing future career prospects
  • Planning the next steps
  • Re-entry into studies

In addition, we address your special challenges in studying, such as a health impairment or family responsibilities. We also support international prospective students in deciding on the right course of study.

Open consultation hours

You will always reach a student counselor at the following times without making an appointment: +49 351 463-40392.

In addition,  we are present on the ground floor/east wing of the Fritz-Foerster-Building. You can find out in which room the respective office hours are held by looking at the notice board in the corridor.

Individual counseling

For an individual consultation, you must first schedule an appointment. You can make an appointment by e-mail to .

When making an appointment, please state your counseling requests and your main area of interest (e. g. scientific field or degree programme). Counseling can also address multiple subjects, so even if you have a variety of interests, one counseling session may be sufficient. Use the box below to find the appropriate student counselor.

Note: Currently, you can choose between individual counseling on site, telephone counseling or video counseling. In accordance with the current regulations of the university executive board, wearing of a medical mouth-nose protection is recommended.
