Information for applicants from abroad
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the largest global support organisation in the field of international exchanges for students and academics and is represented in 58 countries. You can get advice and help for financing your studies in Germany from the DAAD information center in your home country.
If you are already in Germany, you can direct your questions to the DAAD info center in Bonn using this contact form.
You will find a guide about applying for a scholarship as well as answers to frequently asked questions in the DAAD information on applying for a scholarship.
International applicants do not have to apply for a scholarship from the DAAD alone, they can also apply to other institutions, for example foundations affiliated with political parties, religious institutions or business-related organizations. The DAAD scholarship database has extensive information available about different scholarship programs, application requirements and deadlines, which can be filtered according to home country and subject.
