Admission requirements
Prerequisites for the admission to the study course:
• first in Germany recognised university degree that qualifies for a profession of at least six semesters in Psychology or a related subject from a scientific university, where special expertise has been acquired.
• knowledge of English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The proof is effected in accordance with Rules of Procedure for the Aptitude Test [Eignungsfeststellungsordnung]. Notes to the required language skills

Application hints and tips
If, at the time of the application, proof of the first degree that qualifies for a profession cannot yet be provided, applicants will be admitted to the aptitude test procedure and the numerus clausus selection procedure if 80% of the achievable points of the university degree can be proven by a certificate of the university of origin (Examining Office), on the basis of a completed module exam, assignment paper or colloquium. The form can be found on the web pages of the Admission Office.
General information for the degree programme
The CAN curriculum covers the entire spectrum of cognitive-affective neurosciences. It contains modules for the basics, methods, and applications of cognitive-affective neurosciences and can be supplemented with curricula in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy or Human Performance in Socio-Technical Systems programs. Students can rely on an excellent technical infrastructure, including a research-dedicated 3 Tesla MRI scanner, multiple labs for behavioral experiments, as well as for psychophysiological, biochemical, and immunological research.
The course of study consists of eight mandatory modules, among them Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychobiology, Neurobiology of Individual Differences, and Cognitive Neuroscience Methods, and two mandatory elective modules from Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy or Human Performance in Socio-Technical Systems. Furthermore, students write a master thesis and complete a six-week professional internship.
