Office for Academic Heritage at TU Dresden: Exploring collections, exhibitions and art treasures
With its 40 technical and scientific collections and a notable collection of post-1945 Saxon artwork, TU Dresden has a large and unique collection of historical and contemporary exhibits. Exhibits relating to academic teaching, research and art belong to the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections.
The Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections’ mission is to preserve the collections and make them accessible to both the scientific community and the public. The Office’s exhibitions and lectures are just as varied: for example, the permanent exhibition is on display in the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections’ rooms on Zellescher Weg. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the university’s scientific and technical collections, as well as documents and objects relating to the history of the university. The Altana Gallery in the Görges Building hosts alternating special exhibitions, which transcend the border between science and art.
The Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections organizes numerous public events on the history of the university, art exhibitions and topics specific to the collection. These include lectures, discussions with artists, exhibition and campus tours, panel discussions and other interactive formats for various target groups. You can find all event dates in the Office for Academic Heritage's calendar. We can also arrange individual guided tours of the permanent exhibition and the special exhibitions or of the campus.
