Psychological counseling services
The services listed below are provided by psychologists who are bound by professional confidentiality. Our services are free of charge and open to all employees, supervisors and trainees of TU Dresden in the areas of science, administration and technology - we are always there for you!
We have established a generally binding philosophy for our counseling activities, as well as certain principles and general conditions, e.g., confidentiality or exemption from charges.
All information about our counseling philosophy and general principles can be found here.
High demands in one's professional and private life often lead to stress and the feeling that one is no longer able to cope alone. We counsel staff members on issues such as the inability to cope with stress and help with recovery, symptoms of exhaustion and depression, overwork and mental under-stimulation, self-doubt, anxiety, and other professional and personal issues that can lead to stress.
All information on psychological counseling for employees can be found here.
Coaching
Individual coaching offers the opportunity to deal with professional or personal issues in a confidential atmosphere. Ideally, it starts before the circumstances become stressful or develop into a crisis situation and is used, for example, in significant decision-making situations or questions of personal/professional development.
Resilience Training
A special offer as part of the coaching is to look at one's own resilience, the so-called "immune system of the soul". The goal is to strengthen it in good and vigorous times.
More details about the coaching offer as well as resilience training can be found here.
Addictions are a significant issue in counseling, and addiction can mean dependence on a substance (e.g., alcohol, drugs, medications) or a behavior (e.g., gambling, excessive Internet use). We inform and advise you in a non-judgmental way and help you to deal with your own behavior.
You can find more information and contacts here.
Managers are subject to special requirements in their everyday professional lives. Our offers specifically to this group of employees have evolved from the experience and recurring requests of recent years. Of course, psychological counseling is also available to you as a manager in case of stress.

- Dealing with employees with chronic stress or a mental illness
- Catastrophe or death in the team
- Healthy leadership

The scope of our services for TUD employees is flexible. If you are unsure which offer fits your needs, we will work together to find out. For this purpose, we have a confidential mailbox as a key access point. Please contact us with a short formulation of your request, preferably by email.
Students (also student assistants/research assistants) please contact the Psychosocial Counseling Center of the Studentenwerks. Doctoral students are welcome to contact us too.
