Teaching awards 2025 - calls for applications
The Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der Technischen Universität Dresden e. V. (GFF e. V.) is once again offering a teaching award for teaching and learning formats at TU Dresden that were offered by student groups and initiatives in the 2024/2025 academic year. The total amount of prize money to be awarded is 5,000 euros.
Eligible for the prize are
- student-developed courses or joint student projects that are sustainably integrated into the TUD's course offerings
- extraordinary student commitment in the implementation of teaching formats
- particularly innovative/creative/participative teaching formats designed by students
- extraordinary student commitment in the implementation of student projects
All status groups at TU Dresden are eligible to nominate candidates. The prize can be awarded to individuals or groups of people. The prize money is to be used earmarked for the further development, consolidation or expansion of student teaching formats.
Proposals can be submitted using the web form by 31.08.2025.
Together we want to achieve excellence - motivated students and highly qualified graduates of TU Dresden. Innovative teaching and examination formats in digital or analog practice are central components of this. The Society of Friends and Supporters of TUD Dresden University of Technology e. V. will once again honor the particularly committed commitment to teaching at TUD in education and training with the Teaching Award(s).
The total amount of prize money to be awarded is 10,000 euros. Potentially, offers from every faculty as well as the Central Units with study programs have the chance to receive a teaching award - the prerequisite for this is the submission of corresponding applications.
The aim is to recognize teaching and learning concepts from the 2024/2025 academic year that focus on the key qualification of creativity, which is so important for the world of work, in their design and/or implementation. These should promote creative thinking and action through the use of innovative teaching scenarios and strengthen the creative potential of students. There are no restrictions in terms of subject matter.
We are looking for formats that
- further develop regular undergraduate teaching courses
- or - explicitly focus on the students' perspective and the acquisition of skills - or
- design or help shape non-university learning venues -or
- particularly promote research-based and cooperative learning - or
- repeatedly use innovative teaching scenarios and evaluate them for their sustainability - or
- are particularly characterized by the original form of cooperation with non-university partners - or
- go beyond the regular course offerings due to the commitment of the teaching staff
- or - are characterized by a high degree of interactive opportunities for the participants.
Students, the Dean of Studies, the departmental spokespersons, the Deans, the Extended University Executive Board, the student councils and the TU Dresden Student Council are entitled to nominate. The prizes can be awarded to individuals or groups of people. The prize money is to be used earmarked for the further development of teaching.

The Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der Technischen Universität Dresden e. V. (GFF e. V.) is once again awarding a teaching prize for teaching and learning formats at TUD Dresden University of Technology that are explicitly aimed at student teachers or participants in the part-time qualification of teachers or that take special account of the requirements of the teacher training program in their orientation.
The design of teaching and learning formats for student teachers and lateral entrants is proving to be a particular challenge against the backdrop of the transformation of the educational landscape. It is constantly important to impart skills that enable effective practical transfer for schools. For this reason, creative and sustainable concepts as well as special commitment are to be recognized with a teaching award. The total amount of prize money to be awarded is 5,000 euros.
