2015 Inclusion Awards
Winners of the 2015 Inclusion Awards
In order to highlight the diversity of our TUD community, a university-wide competition was launched as part of the second Diversity Days in 2015, the aim of which was to honor particularly exemplary initiatives that support people with disabilities and chronic illnesses and to inspire others. Both TU Dresden students and employees could enter the competition for the award honoring exemplary activities and measures that support people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. The Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden provided EUR 500 in prize money.
The jury, comprising the members of TU Dresden’s Advisory Council on Inclusion, selected the application made by Prof. Weber (Chair of Human-Computer Interaction) for the Studies for the Blind and Visually Impaired Group (AG SBS) as the winner.
The AG SBS advises and supports current and prospective students in many ways. They compile essential accessible documents from specialist materials and teaching resources for scientific use in cooperation with publishers across Europe and lecturers at TU Dresden. Moreover, they provide a teaching and workplace system which is specially adapted to the needs of the students. The AG SBS also offers guidance and support in all areas of student life. Since 2018, a certified peer counselor has also been assisting current and prospective students with all questions surrounding participation during studies and organization.
Staff Unit Diversity Management extends their congratulations to the AG SBS and would like to thank everyone who submitted nominations.
