If we have an interruption of service, other errors on global backup service system or errors at a single backup server we will write it to following operation status displays:

If you don't know servername to which your data is backuped - look at your ISP client configuration file (dsm.opt or dsm.sys) and search for keyword "tcpserveraddress".

Data from central home and project filesystems

Data from central home and project filesystems can be restored by yourself from snapshots.

Properties of backup service

automated backup of your data
separated storage for working data on your computer and backed-up data in storage of central backup service
software ISP (IBM Spectrum Protect) (formerly known as TSM)
restoration of data from previous backups to get data backed-up before crash or virus infection or accidental deletion of data
keeps several versions of data for a short or medium-term time (max. 6 months) on storage media in ZIH, configurable retention time by user. (If you need a retention time longer than 6 month please use our archive service)
encryption of data before sending them to backup server is possible, configurable on client-side
restoration of data by users (with access rights to client data) is possible any time
daily status email about success of backups to the contacts responsible for the client
