TUD's "E-Learning Gems" Competition
Table of contents
Goals of the competition
The competition, which is being staged this year for the fourth time, aims to bring visibility to the e-learning strategies and new didactic concepts developed during the online semesters as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It also seeks to recognize lecturers’ remarkable commitment to excellent digital teaching.
As with the first editions of the competition, we will compile a gallery of TUD’s e-learning gems, which can serve as inspiration for other courses. Therefore, we are looking for particularly successful e-learning content and approaches.
The best e-learning gems will be selected for presentation in a gallery, which can be viewed by anyone looking for inspiration to implement their own ideas.
Prizes will be awarded according to the following categories:
- Courses with up to 30 students
- Courses with 31 to 100 students
- Courses with over 100 students
All members of TU Dresden are invited to vote for their favorite e-learning gem. The gem with the most votes in each category will win a prize of €2,000 (which can be spent to fund student assistants/research assistants as well as material costs). The competition is financed through centralized funds for implementing TU Dresden’s e-learning strategy.
Submissions
Only nominations from students or other teaching staff will be accepted. Submitting a nomination does not necessitate prior consultation with the lecturer being nominated. However, lecturers will be required to give their consent before their work is included in the gallery. For the purposes of this competition, e-learning gems can be all digital teaching and learning content as well as special e-learning teaching instruments that were developed and used at TU Dresden in the course of the 2020/21 winter semester and the 2021 summer semester.
