LB 410 Landscape planning project
Lecture (2 SWS of which 1 SWS in the semester and one week blocked in the 1st month of the semester), exercises/seminars (3 SWS) and project course (3 SWS of which 2 SWS in the semester and one week blocked in the 1st month of the semester), 1 week excursion (blocked in the 1st month); offered in the summer semester.
In this module, students acquire sound knowledge of planning and evaluation methods in landscape planning. They should be able to develop objectives, measures and requirements in relation to the protection, development and restoration of environmental assets from a landscape planning perspective and integrate all partial aspects into an overall concept for the development of nature and landscape.
The course is offered to students of landscape architecture (Bachelor) and geography (limited participants).
In the summer semester 2024, a landscape planning study will be prepared for parts of the municipalities of Seifhennersdorf and Leutersdorf in the district of Görlitz. The following environmental assets are to be processed:
- Cultural landscape
- Recreation / landscape design
- climate
- Soil
- water
- Species, biotopes & biodiversity

Important note: The course starts on April 8, 2024 with an intensive week (until 12.04.24) in Seifhennersdorf. You will receive information on registration, travel and requirements by e-mail. It is necessary to register in Selma for LB410 Intensive Week and LB410 Project. The week is a prerequisite for working on the project.
Accompanying event
A GIS course is offered to accompany the project (LB450 IKT-GIS). This course is a compulsory module in the 4th semester of the Bachelor's degree course, as project work is inconceivable without basic GIS knowledge. Basic knowledge of (Auto)CAD is a prerequisite for participation in the GIS course! Ms. Dipl.-Ing. Silke Molch is responsible for this course.
