Studierende der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen gewinnen studentischen Wettbewerb!
For the revitalization of the post-mining landscape around Lake Störmthal, the municipality of Großpösna launched a student ideas competition. The aim of the competition was to open up the Magdeborn peninsula by means of an approx. 600 m long foot and cycle path bridge and to increase its tourist appeal by building a lake bridge.
The students of the TU Dresden took part in the competition in the category "bridge over the lake" as part of the module "bridge construction" and were able to successfully assert themselves against strong competition and claim the first two places. The jury awarded first place to an innovative cable-stayed bridge in wood-concrete composite construction (design: Jonas Scharf, Cedric Eisermann, Kemal Erdem Cicek); second place went to a discreet and material-saving tension band bridge on floating pontoons (design: Johannes Heller, Tim Pergande, Jasmin Zschau, Lovis Tenner).
The Institute of Concrete Structures would like to thank the sponsor, especially Dr. Gabriela Lantzsch and Mr. Patrick Wiederanders, for the great initiative and hopes that the results will create incentives for other cities and communities. For the students, participation gave them the opportunity to apply the skills they had gathered during their studies to the example of a "real" project. Despite the pandemic-related restrictions on face-to-face meetings, there was intense collaboration, communication and exchange.
The IMB congratulates the winners and thanks all students for their dedicated participation!
