The CUBE – ligthhouse of the C³ project

The CUBE from the air
The CUBE is the first building in the world to be constructed entirely from non-metallic reinforced concrete. The gem adorns the TU Dresden campus and is the result of interdisciplinary collaboration between industry and science under the umbrella of the association C3 – Carbon Concrete Composite e.V.
The CUBE is made up of two double-curved TWIST shells, which act as wall and roof, and a two-storey BOX made of prefabricated elements. The building demonstrates a fascinating interaction between dynamic design and cubist influences. The application of the carbon-reinforced concrete construction method has been successfully demonstrated in accordance with all building regulations.
