Statistical validation of testing data concerning load bearing behavior of multi-filament-yarn in concrete

Aim
The goal of this research subproject is the consideration of statistical properties of test results from subprojects A1, A5, B1 and C1 investigating the load bearing behavior of multi-filament-yarn in concrete. The project is a interlink between the experimental focused subprojects, such as A1, A5, B1 and C1 and the more theoretical justified projects, such as B3 or C2. The subproject B4 on one hand supports the theoretical projects to develop the theoretical models and on the other hand supports the experimental projects to detect correlated data and to detects limitation of the test set-up and design together new tests. Last but not least the extension of the theoretical models for consideration of random uncertainties is part of the subproject as well. Major tools for the investigation of the test data are the evaluation of measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion of data, distribution of data (goodness of fit tests), identification of outliers, censored data or the identification of multimodal data. In addition the visual monitoring of tests or the discussion with engineers carrying out the tests is part of the project and can give data about drawbacks in the test set-up. All the achieved data can be used to identify system changes. The goal of identifying system changes is the minimization of data dispersion caused by testing. In addition major parameters influencing the load bearing behavior can be detected. This is the basis for proofing the theoretical modes and for future optimization of the material.
Results
The subproject started its activities on July 1st 2005. First results will be available in the near future.
