Main Foci of the FLOODmaster Program
Integrated Flood Risk Management the following didactical foci have been defined: Risk Analysis, Risk Evaluation and Risk Mitigation. These
foci are backed up with basics in
natural and engineering sciences as well as current findings in economic,
social and planning sciences.
The basic causal relationships between different flood risks can be described using the so-called SPRC-Concept. The idea of this concept is relating the relevant processes of sources and pathways to the vulnerability of the affected individuals, groups, goods and areas (receptors) and the resulting (negative) consequences. By now, this model is considered international consensus and has been applied to structure the content areas of the FLOODmaster study program (Intranet).
